Joanna Alm, CEO and co-owner of Drop Coffee has finally written her book - Manifesto for better coffee.
 
"Brewing better coffee at home does not have to be very complicated. You really only need well-cleaned basic equipment, a freshly ground good coffee, a scale, a timer and the knowledge in this book.
 
But good coffee is not just about using the right brewing technique. Like tea or a bottle of wine, coffee is a drink whose taste and quality varies enormously depending on the subspecies, origin and how it was then harvested, processed, roasted and finally brewed. In this book, you can therefore follow the coffee from origin to finished cup and learn how to get the most possible taste of each variety and origin.
 
But it also wants to raise awareness about all the hands that the coffee beans have passed through before they finally reach your cup and how people are actually affected by your decisions. The world market price for coffee has not risen since the 70s and those who have had to pay for it are those who actually produce the coffee. So in order to really enjoy a really good cup of coffee, we need to start being prepared to pay more for it. "
